Luca Antonelli earns his first Italy cap

Parma left back Luca Antonelli made his first appearance for the Italian national side, coming on as a substitute in Italy's 2-1 victory over Estonia yesterday. Antonio Mirante was also in the squad but will have to wait to make his debut as he featured on the bench. However there wasn't good news for either Alberto Paloschi or Valeri Bojinov as they both picked up injuries in their respective international matches. Paloschi's injury was serious enough to rule him out of the Wales match on Tuesday while Bojinov is just thought to have suffered a minor muscle cramp. Rolf Feltscher also played a part ...

Parma loan out four players as market closes

During the last hours of the transfer market Parma have confirmed that five players have left the club on loan. Gabriele Paonessa who signed from Bologna during the summer in a co-ownership deal will play for Cesena next season while Matteo Mandorlini will play in Serie B with Piacenza. Alessio Manzoni who spent last season on loan at Atalanta will play next season at Albinoleffe and Bosnian striker Milan Djuric will turn out for Ascoli.

Antonio Candreva arrives on loan from Udinese

In what's probably Parma's last signing of the summer before Tuesday's market deadline Udinese midfielder Antonio Candreva has signed on loan for the season. The 23 year old impressed enough during his two year loan spell with Livorno to earn a call up to the national side in 2009 before moving to Juventus on loan for the second half of the season. The transfer press conference is set for tomorrow evening with a specific time still to be confirmed.

Coppola and Rispoli move to Lecce on loan

Both Manuel Coppola and Andrea Rispoli have moved to Lecce on loan for the season in order to get regular first team football. Central Midfielder Coppola had spent last season on loan with Torino in Serie B where he made 17 appearances after moving to Parma last summer. While young fullback Andrea Rispoli was bought in a co-ownership deal with Brescia in January where he made 30 appearances and scored five goals.

Giovinco: “All that matters to me now is Parma”

Sebastian Giovinco spoke after his scintillating debut where he had a hand in both of Parma's goals on what he thought of the performance. "We got an important win today and I'm happy with my performance but it's important that we can carry this form on into the next match." "I keep getting asked whether I regret leaving Juventus, of course not. Parma believed in me when Juve did not and for that they are all that matters to me."

Bojinov: “It was a great game for the fans!”

Scorer of Parma's first goal of the 2010/11 season Valeri Bojinov spoke after the match about the teams performance against Brescia. "It was a great game played in front of fans who really deserved something special. I am happy to have gotten the goal but more importantly we came away with the three points." "There is a great understanding developing between myself, Giovinco and Marqués already and there can be much more to come over the season." "We had a tough pre season and it was great to be able to go out and put in such a performance to start the season ...

It only took ten minutes for Valeri Bojinov to give Parma the lead thanks to a delightful throughball from Sebastian Giovinco. This allowed Bojinov to round the keeper before putting the ball in the net. Brescia's only real chances came from set pieces as Diamanti went close from ...
