Parma defender Christian Panucci describes what happened during his altercation between Genoa president Enrico Preziosi after the match against Genoa on Sunday.

“When I was heading towards the bus after the match I ran into Preziosi, and remarked about the protracted transfer negotiations Genoa put me through over the summer. Preziosi replied by slapping me on the neck to which there are witnesses.”

Panucci has been underfire from journalists the past couple of days having thought to be overheard threatening Preziosi to which he denies these allegations.

Preziosi has also gone on record saying he will not apologise to Panucci and as such the Parma defender is looking to take some sort of legal action against the Genoa president.

“I would like to thank Parma for the understanding they have shown, in particular President Ghirardi and CEO Leonardi but also my team mates who have stood by me.”
