Sunday, 13 December 2009Serie A: Parma 2-1 Bologna
Parma came from behind to beat Bologna 2-1 in their first meeting since the relegation play-offs back in 2005. A result that keeps them firmly in the Champions League spots.
Parma dominated the opening 25 minutes or so with Lanzafame coming close to scoring on two occasions. Parma should have gotten the opener on 12 minutes but Morrone failed to finish off a great counter attack by firing straight at the keeper.
Bologna made Parma pay for their wasted chances when Mundingayi started a counter attack after a failed Parma corner, finishing it by curling the ball around Mirante and in at the back post leaving Parma behind at half time.
Parma equalised on the hour when a free kick was threaded through for Biabiany’s cross, finding Christian Panucci for a free header.
Bologna then gave away a penalty on 70 minutes when Britos ran into the back of Dzemaili earning himself a red card. However Amoruso failed to score with his effort clipping the outside of the right post before going wide.
Amoruso made up for his penalty miss however when he grabbed the winner with 5 minutes to go. Managing to connect with Zaccardo’s well timed pull back to tap in from six yards at the near post.
