Sunday, 29 November 2009Serie A: Parma 1-1 Napoli
Parma extended their unbeaten run to three games scraping a 1-1 draw with Napoli at the Tardini this afternoon. A result which keeps them comfortably in the top half of the table and only 17 points from their season target of safety from relegation.
It was Napoli who got the opener past the half hour mark with German Denis meeting Christian Maggio’s low cross from the right deflecting it under Mirante to give them a narrow lead going into half time.
Blerim Dzemaili nearly got Parma the equaliser after half time with a dangerous free kick that caused De Sanctis some problems blocking it at his near post.
With only 5 minutes of normal time remaining Parma were awarded a penalty for Aronica’s push on Lanzafame. Former Parma defender Matteo Contini earned himself a straight red card for taking his protests too far.
Nicola Amoruso then stepped up to calmly convert the penalty, sending De Sanctis the wrong direction and maintaining Parma’s strong position in the table.
