Saturday, 01 May 2010Serie A: Bologna 2-1 Parma
23′ Biabiany (PAR), 39′ Di Vaio, 53′ Di Vaio
A brace from former Parma striker and Bologna captain Marco Di Vaio was enough to defeat Parma who played most of the match with ten men.
Bojinov forced Viviano to save with his feet while Portanova’s vicious volley from a Zalayeta knock down brought a fine save out of Mirante.
Parma took the lead on the 23rd minute thanks to Jonathan Biabiany tearing past the Bologna defence to place an angled shot across the Bologna goal into the bottom corner.
However moments later Parma were reduced to 10 men when Christian Zaccardo was sent off for clumsily barging into Zalayeta who was free on goal.
Bologna then piled on the pressure and grabbed the equaliser five minutes before half time when Di Vaio flicked in a low cross at the near post.
Di Vaio then grabbed his second shortly after half time due to a defensive lapse from debutant defender Abel Gigli. His header back was far too weak allowing Di Vaio to intercept and lob over MIrante.
Former Parma winger Andrea Pisanu nearly doubled Bologna’s advantage with a clever backheel that only just managed to be kept out with the slightest of touches from Mirante.
