Parma overcame old rivals Juventus in a five goal thriller at the Stadio Olimpico yesterday afternoon in a match that saw a brace from Davide Lanzafame.

Juventus opened the scoring through captain Del Piero on the 16th minute as he smashed a low drive into the bottom corner from a Iaquinta knockdown.

However within three minutes Parma were level with the help of Chiellini as his deflection took Lanzafame’s shot past Buffon and into the centre of the net.

Play became interrupted on the half hour mark as both team captains appealed to their fans to stop throwing objects onto the pitch.

Five minutes before half time Parma took the lead as Crespo sprung the offside trap only to have Buffon spill the ball into the path of Lanzafame who duly planted the ball into the net.

Juventus were limited to a number of attempts from set pieces so it was no surprise when Parma added another on the counter five minutes from time.

Jonathan Biabiany found himself totally unmarked infront of goal and after battling his way past Buffon placed the ball into the empty net.

Iaquinta managed a consolation goal for Juventus in injury time as springing the offside trap to smash the ball in from six yards out.
