Saturday, 03 April 2010Serie A: Parma 1-1 Fiorentina
22′ De Silvestri (FIO), 68′ Bojinov (PAR)
Parma grabbed a deserved draw with Fiorentina this afternoon keeping their Europa League ambitions alive.
Bojinov nearly scored within the first minute intercepting a backpass only to be crowded out by Sebastien Frey.
However it was Fiorentina that took the lead against the run of play when Jovetic slipped a ball through the defence for De Silvestri to poke home his first Serie A goal.
Cristiano Zanetti nearly extended the lead but for Mirante parrying off the line while Bojinov shot straight at Frey while De Silvestri nearly got his second but for Mirante’s reaction save.
Parma very nearly got the equaliser when Frey cleared a freekick into the path of Biabiany for a half volley but Frey somehow managed to deflect it out for a corner with his foot.
It was another poorly cleared set play that got Parma the equaliser as Bojinov pounced on the ricochet to score from six yards.
Gilardino had a goal chalked off due to offside while substitute Hernan Crespo nodded inches wide at the near post.
It was Mirante that kept the scores level at the death reacting quickly to deny Gilardino fromĀ a Vargas cross.
