Thursday, 11 February 2010Serie A: Parma 1-1 Inter Milan
54′ Bojinov (PAR), 59′ Balotelli (INT)
Parma managed to hold league leaders Inter Milan to a 1-1 draw putting in a good performance in front of their home fans.
Within the first five minutes Goran Pandev forced Mirante into full stretch saves from sudden snapshots.
Mirante kept Parma in the game during the first halfs with point blank saves from Motta and Milito while Biabiany was constantly dangerous on the counter attack to go into half time with the game tied.
Parma took the lead on 54 minutes after Bojinov managed to bundle the ball over the line from a corner that was poorly cleared by Julio Cesar after Zaccardo’s initial volley.
However Inter hit back immediately, equalising just five minutes later through their own corner kick where Balotelli controlled Lucio’s knockdown to fire in from seven yards out.
Mcdonald Mariga very nearly scored against the team he left 10 days ago but his effort from the edge of the area was tipped around the post by Mirante.
Parma went down to 10 men with less that twenty minutes left to play after Francesco Valiani earned his second bookable offence for going in late on Lucio.
Both teams had chances to win the game with Zaccardo twice going close with shots being closed down while Balotelli nearly set up the winner but for Maicon to blast the ball over the bar.
