Wednesday, 06 January 2010Serie A: Parma 1-2 Juventus
3′ Salihamidzic (J), 25′ Amoruso (P), 38′ Castellini og (J)
An own goal from Paolo Castellini allowed Juventus to come away with a fortuitous win at the Tardini this afternoon. Parma dominated the game for large periods but failed to turn that dominance into anything productive.
Within 3 minutes Parma were trailing 1-0. Giorgio Chiellini flicked on a Juventus corner to allow Hasan Salihamidzic to score from six yards out.
Biabiany very nearly got the equaliser for Parma with a powerful shot but Manninger was at full stretch to tip it around the post.
However Parma drew level after 25 minutes when Nicola Amoruso met Zenoni’s cross with a towering header to score his fifth goal of the season.
Amoruso very nearly got a second with a screamer from outside the penalty area that Manninger only just managed to tip over the crossbar.
However Parma then gifted Juventus the lead with an embarrassing own goal from Paolo Castellini. In a clumsy bid to clear Diego’s corner over the bar he ended up heading the ball into his own net.
Juventus were reduced to ten men after Martin Caceres earned a second yellow card for his foul on Zaccardo with 20 minutes left of normal time.
Despite pouring forward and pelting Manningers goal Parma were unable to find even any clear cut chances for an equaliser with Amoruso’s effort whizzing past the post and Bojinov’s freekick failing to clear the wall.
