5′ Totti (ROM), 75′ Taddei, 80′ Lanzafame (PAR)

Parma came away from the Ennio Tardini unlucky not to get anything out of the game putting in one of their best performances of the season against Roma this evening.

Bojinov almost gave Parma the lead within the opening 3 minutes as he latched onto a delightful pass from Galloppa only to skew his shot just past the far post.

However less than a minute later Totti put Roma ahead. De Rossi’s long ball picked out the Roma captain who simply lobbed the ball over Mirante and into the open net.

Parma fought back however with both Biabiany and Valiani having long range efforts while Antonelli’s header hit the side netting from a Valiani cross.

Hernan Crespo was brought on at half time and almost immediately grabbed the equaliser connecting with Antonelli’s cross but unfortunately hit the side netting.

Minutes later Totti nearly added his second but his shot just clipped the outside of the post with Mirante well beaten.

Lanzafame also came close to getting an equaliser after Antonelli cut the ball inside only to skim the crossbar.

With fifteen minutes left to play Roma doubled their lead against the run of play with Taddei’s placed header from Totti’s cross.

However five minutes later Parma got a goal back. Davide Lanzafame with a glancing header across the goal from a Biabiany cross beating Julio Sergio at his near post.

The pressure of searching for the equaliser eventually got to Luis Jimenez who was sent off for a second bookable offence. Blerim Dzemaili will also miss next weeks rival clash against Juventus having picked up a yellow card earlier in the game.
