Goalkeeper Gianluca Pegolo has joined Parma from Genoa in what is believed to be a season-long loan deal.
The 27 year old was originally linked with the Crociati (as well as Salernitana) earlier on in the week with a loan deal involving Radek Petr going the other way. However, it was announced today that Petr will spend the season on loan at Pro Patria and so the Pegolo loan deal is a more straightforward one than originally expected.
Pegolo started his career at Fiorenzuola before spending six seasons with Verona. He was snapped up by Genoa in 2007 but immediately placed on loan at Mantova where he made a strong impression last season. It is unclear at this stage whether he or Nicola Pavarini will be the first choice between the Parma sticks in Serie B this season.
