Young Argentine striker Leandro Martinez has joined Serie C1 team Ternana on loan for the season from Parma.

The official Parma website officially announced the move earlier this evening.

Parma centre-half Massimo Paci tried to explain to the official site why the Coppa Italia game with Portogruaro Summaga at the weekend was such a close match.

He went on to explain how much more important Parma’s Serie B campaign is over the Coppa Italia.

Having been linked with numerous clubs last week, Napoli left-sided player Mirko Savini has been linked more strongly with Parma today.

Savini’s future at Napoli has looked increasingly uncertain throughout the summer and his agent claims his client has had enough with the Partenopei.

Parma needed extra time in order to complete their comeback from 2-0 down to win 3-2 and advance to the next round in the Coppa Italia.

Parma were less than impressive during their first competitive match of the season and were at times out played by their Serie C2 opponents.

Speaking to the official site today, Parma front-man Cristiano Lucarelli explained his feelings towards the press’ high expectations, and the squad’s pre-season.

He also looked ahead to Saturday’s Coppa Italia clash with Portogruaro and explained how wary he is of the underdogs.
